昨年９月迄、日立製作所研究開発グループに４０年近く勤務していました。退職を機に、株式会社計測基盤技術研究所を設立しました。これまでどのような仕事をしてきたかについての詳細な経歴は、別サイトの「代表取締役の経歴」をご覧ください。設立当時は、本当に会社を経営していけるのかと甚だ心配でしたが、いろいろなご縁から仕事も受注でき、１年目としては予想以上の成果を上げることができました。それに伴い、弊社の仕事の方向性もよりはっきりしてきたと思います。２年目を迎えるにあたり、気分を一新する意味で、ホームページを作成しなおすことにしました。

　さて、２年目、３年目はさらなる飛躍に向けて、新たな施策を行う段階に来たと考えています。幸い、弊社の仕事をサポートいただける外部の専門家も１４人に増えました。日立製作所ＯＢが多いのですが、優秀な研究者であったこともあり、皆さん、非常に頼りになります。それに伴い、弊社の仕事内容も、ヘルスケアに関するコンサルテーションを中心に拡大していくことを検討しています。ちなみに、弊社の英語名は、Fundamental Measurement Institute of  Technology Corporation (f-MIT) となります。３３歳の頃、米国国立衛生研究所（National Institutes of Health, NIH）に客員研究員として滞在していた際、米国マサチューセッツ工科大（Massachusetts Institute of Technology, ＭＩＴ）のベンチャーラボを見学し、若い研究者達が果敢に新しい技術に挑戦しているのを見て感激し、そのときの感動をずっと忘れないようにと、会社名にはＭＩＴという言葉が入るようにしました。

　経営者としてはまだ学ぶべきところが多々あり、日々努力していくつもりです。

    Until last September, I worked for nearly 40 years in the Research and Development Group of Hitachi, Ltd. Upon my retirement, I have established Fundamnetal Measurement Institute of Technology Corporation (f-MIT). For a more detailed background on what kind of work I have done, please refer to the "Biography of the Representative Director" on the other site. At the time of establishment, I was very worried about whether we could really manage the company, but we were able to receive orders from various sources and achieved better results than expected in the first year. As we enter our second year, we have decided to re-design our website as a way to refresh ourselves.

   Now, in our second and third years, we believe that we have reached the stage where we need to take new measures in order to make further progress. Fortunately, the number of outside experts who can support our work has increased to 14. Many of them are Hitachi, Ltd. alumni, and they were excellent researchers, so they are all extremely reliable. Accordingly, we are considering expanding the scope of our work to include more healthcare-related consultation. For your information, our English name is Fundamental Measurement Institute of Technology Corporation (f-MIT). When I was a visiting researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), I visited a venture lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. I was so impressed by the young researchers boldly taking on the challenges of new technologies that I decided to include the word "MIT" in the company name so that I would never forget the excitement I felt at that moment.
